We have another co-ed duo on the lookout, it’s not The White Stripes or The Ting Tings, they are known as Beach House and come directly from Baltimore, Maryland ready to indulge us in their “Teen Dream”.
“Teen Dream” is the third full-length album recorded by the duo. Despite the teeny-bopper-magazine-like title, this album provides listeners with an imagery of exactly just that, a teen dream.
Just imagine rhythms somewhat lethargic with a twist of psychedelic retro pop. It is over half hour of the same attractive cooing and dulcet flow. Basically, it belongs in The Virgin Suicide movie soundtrack, no pun intended!
“Zebra” is the sunrise to this teen dream, which has already been performed live on many late night shows. “Norway” is the single that has been available for many months and video was featured on last weeks "Just Fabrikated" section. Personally, they are too laid back for my taste, but apparently many Australians and Europeans dig it because they sold out many shows over seas.
The pretty thing about this album is that it is perfect to listen to on any rainy, foggy, or cold day, it just sets that lazy mood, yet ironically enough, nothing to do with a beach house.
